Program Itinerary of the 5 Days Tour Tangier to Marrakech
DAY 01: TANGIER - CHEFCHAOUEN - FES
Your driver/ guide will pick you up depending on where you are: Hotel / Airport / Port to start our best 5 days Morocco tour from Tangier.
Next, we will drive through the stunning Rif Mountains passing by Tetouan, and continue to the enchanting town of Chefchaouen. Upon arrival, you will check into your comfortable accommodation and have the opportunity to explore the city and its iconic blue and white painted streets.
You can take a leisurely walk through the narrow streets, visit its old Medina, Ras el Ma, and unwind at one of the cozy restaurants offering authentic Moroccan cuisine.
In the afternoon, we will drive directly to Fes while enjoying wonderful views of the Rif Mountains. Overnight stay at decorated Riad/Hotel.
DAY 02: FES – IFRANE – MIDDLE ATLAS – ZIZ VALLEY – MERZOUGA ERG CHEBBI
In the morning after breakfast, we will continue our journey towards Merzouga desert via the middle Atlas Mountains enjoying a nice drive through Berber villages.
Our first stop is the City of Ifrane (known as ‘Morocco Switzerland’), continue to Azrou the famous cedar forest where you can observe Barbary apes in their natural habitat, then continue to the town of Midelt where you can have a break for lunch.
After that, we will head south to the beautiful Ziz Valley, famous for its lush palm tree oasis where we will stop to admire a nice panoramic view with the scenery of the oasis.
In the afternoon, we will arrive at the Merzouga desert, and take a camel trek to a Berber camp in the dunes of Erg Chebbi, the highest dunes in North Africa. The camel trek takes about 1h30min to the camp where you will spend the night.
After having dinner, you will enjoy the sound of traditional Berber Drums around the fire and under the stars.
DAY 03: EXPLORE MERZOUGA AREA - KHAMLIA VILLAGE - NOMAD FAMILY
Today, we highly recommend you wake up early to enjoy the Sunrise over a high dune near the camp. After a tasty breakfast, we will start our Merzouga 4×4 excursion to explore different and interesting sites around the Erg Chebbi dunes.
We will visit Hassi Labied Oasis to see its irrigation canal and land agriculture, then continue to Khamlia village to listen to the Gnawa music of the dark-skinned people who were brought to Morocco as immigrants over a hundred years ago.
Afterward, we will journey to M’ifis mines, famous for minerals and fossils. Then get the opportunity to visit a nomad Berber family who is still living in their tent, we will have a glass of mint tea with them and learn about their lifestyle…
After lunch at a local restaurant, we will drive back to the village. Overnight at a local Riad.
DAY 04: MERZOUGA – RISSANI – TODRA GORGE – DADES VALLEY
After enjoying a delightful breakfast, we will drive towards the stunning Dades Valley through the Rissani to visit its weekly market if it’s one of the market days (Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday), then pass through small Berber villages such as Jorf, Touroug, Tinejdad and the big town Tinghir where we will stop to admire its beautiful Todra river full of palm trees and vegetation.
Afterward, we continue our way to Todra Canyon, located at the feet of the High Atlas Mountains, which offers breathtaking views and is a famous place for rock climbers, free time to walk through its high canyons, and a break for lunch.
In the afternoon, we will drive to Dades Valley through Boumalne Dades, and prepare to be spellbound by the extraordinary rock formations known as ‘Monkey Fingers’.
End our day by spending the night in a charming Riad/Hotel on the top of the mountain.
DAY 05: DADES GORGE – AIT BENHADDOU – HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS – MARRAKECH
On the last day of our 5 Days from Tangier to Marrakech, our journey continues in the direction of Marrakech via Rose Valley and Skoura palm grove. Upon arrival in Ouarzazate, we will visit the Kasbah Taourirt and film studios (Optional).
Then we will travel towards the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featured in numerous films like The Mummy and Prince of Persia. Here, we will be able to admire this historic site’s detailed architecture and rich decorations. We will also have free time to have lunch.
Afterward, we will continue our trip crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the highest road pass in Morocco called Tizi N’tichka at 2260 meters above sea level it offers impressive views of Valleys, Mountains, and many Berber villages.
Arrival in the afternoon in Marrakech, transfer to your accommodation and your 5 days Morocco Tangier to Marrakech ends.
