MOROCCO ITINERARY 7 DAYS
Day1: Arrival to Marrakech - Transfert to your accommodation
Our knowledgeable driver/guide will pick you up from the airport and take you to your riad/hotel, then have the day to relax while exploring the main square Jemaa el Fnaand the souks on your own.
Day 2: Marrakech - High Atlas Mountains - Ait Benhaddou - Ouarzazate - Dades Valley
After breakfast, we will start our Morocco itinerary 7 days from Marrakech. We pass through Tizi-n-Tishka where we stop several times to enjoy the mountain views and brace ourselves for stunning views of the Atlas Mountains and the Berber villages.
Then we continue to explore the magnificent Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its impressive architecture, where you will have lunch in a local restaurant near the Kasbah.
From there, proceed to Ouarzazate “Hollywood of Morocco” where we will visit the Taourirt Kasbah and the Atlas Studios.
Afterward, continue your drive towards the Dades Valley, known for its stunning rock formations. Overnight in a Riad within the Dades gorges.
Day 3: Dades Valley - Todra Gorges - Erfoud - Merzouga (Erg Chebbi)
After a delicious breakfast, turn back within the valley to see the dramatic rock formations called ”the monkey fingers” and lush palm groves. Then we leave Dades Valley towards Todra Gorges in Tinghir, where you will see the scenic landscapes of the old Berber villages overlooking the canyon and creating a breathtaking natural spectacle.
Arriving at the Todra Canyon, you will step following the 300m high red cliff to experience their preferred spot. From there, we continue our trip to Tinejdad where we will have lunch and afterward, we will leave to the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga.
Once there, prepare for an unforgettable desert experience. Our experienced Camel man will be waiting for us, to mount your camel and discover the magical wavy dunes of the Erg Chebbi. You will have a stop to relax, watch the breathtaking Sunset, and experience the thrill of sandboarding.
Afterward, before spending the night in an equipped desert camp, you will have a delicious dinner and a music party with friendly guys around the fire and under a starry sky.
Day 4: Merzouga - Erfoud - Ziz Valley - Midelt - Ifrane - Fes
To begin the day, we recommend an early start to watch the Sunrise over the Erg Chebbi’s dunes. After a traditional breakfast in your camp, your driver will be ready to lead you on the next part of your adventure to Fes.
We will pass through the town of Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops, and drive through the scenic Ziz Valley, with its lush palm groves and picturesque gorges.
Continue through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Passing by the cities of Midelt and Azrou where we might spot Barbary monkeys, and the picturesque town of Ifrane, a charming city known for its European-style architecture and nicknamed “Little Switzerland”.
By late afternoon, we will reach Fes. Overnight in your hotel/riad.
Day 5: Full day to explore Fes
We will start the sightseeing tour with a knowledgeable local guide exploring the oldest city in Morocco, discovering the medina’s ancient walls, delving into its rich history, and marveling at the stunning architecture.
Your guide will lead you through the narrow alleys and streets supported by a high wall (home of the Jewish quarter), you will include a visit to the Bou Inania Medersa, the Moulay Idriss mausoleum, the Al-Attarine Madrasa, and view Fes famous leather tannery from above, and more.
After finishing the tour and having lunch, you will drive back to the Riad with free time in the afternoon to explore more places in the city. Overnight in the Riad or Hotel.
Day 6: Fes - Volubilis - Chefchaouen
After breakfast in your riad, you will head to Chefchaouen (the blue city). On the way, we will include a stop to visit the archaeological site of Volubilis, and get ideas of Moroccan life during the Roman Empire. This old Roman city became a UNESCO Heritage Site in 1997.
Then continue our journey towards Chefchaouen known as the blue pearl of Morocco, it is a picturesque town painted in shades of blue and its striking blue-washed buildings create a dreamlike atmosphere that captivates visitors.
Relax at a charming riad in the heart of the city, you will have free time in the afternoon to explore the narrow streets adorned with colorful pots of flowers and browse the local markets for unique handicrafts. Enjoy a comfortable night’s rest.
Day 7: Chefchaouen - Rabat - Casablanca
On the last day of our Morocco 7-day itinerary from Marrakech to Merzouga and after a Moroccan breakfast. We will leave Chefchaouen and head south towards Rabat, the capital politics of Morocco. Upon arrival in Rabat, we will see the crenelated red ocher walls, and visit the famous Hassan 2 tower, the Mohamed 5 mausoleum, and the Kasbah of the Udayas.
Continue your journey towards Casablanca, then we will drop you off at the hotel or Riad or at the airport depending on the time of your departure, marking the conclusion of your Marrakech to Chefchaouen with Desert Morocco Tours.
