Program Itinerary of The 9 Days Desert Tour From Casablanca to Marrakech:
DAY 1: CASABLANCA ARRIVAL & CITY TOUR
Your Morocco 9 days itinerary begins with your arrival at Med V airport in Casablanca, where you will meet your driver/guide.
The driver will provide a brief review of your itinerary. Then you will start with a city tour, visiting the iconic Hassan II Mosque one of the largest mosques in the world with gardens, and terrace cafes overlooking the Atlantic Coast.
Afterward, you will drive to your accommodation. Overnight in a Hotel/Riad.
DAY 2: CASABLANCA – RABAT - CHEFCHAOUEN
After breakfast, we will drive towards Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Explore the historical sites and architectural wonders, including Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of the Udayas.
After that, we’ll continue our day towards Chefchaouen, known as the ‘Blue City’ for its picturesque blue-painted streets and narrow alleys. Overnight in Hotel/Riad in the Medina.
DAY 3: FULL DAY TO EXPLORE CHEFCHAOUEN
Today, a full day to explore Chefchaouen, also known as the “Blue Pearl” of Morocco. Nestled in the Rif Mountains, this picturesque town is renowned for its striking blue-washed buildings and narrow, winding streets.
You can stroll through the heart of the medina with its narrow streets and alleys, where every corner offers a new photo-worthy sight.
Discover hidden gems in the bustling souks (Markets), and get the chance to visit the old Kasbah, offering panoramic views of the town and surrounding mountains…
DAY 4: CHEFCHAOUEN - VOLUBILIS - MEKNES - FES
On the 4th day of our Morocco itinerary 9 days, we’ll head to cross the Rif mountains to visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the best preserved Roman ruins in this part of Northern Africa.
At Volubilis, you’ll explore the remains of this historic city, and learn about its fascinating past. The ruins of Volubilis are known for their intricately detailed mosaics, and stately columns, all standing as a testament to Morocco’s rich history.
Next, you’ll drive to Meknes, a majestic imperial city known for its imposing gates (Bab el Mansour), the ornamental gate to the imperial city of Meknes, and one of the most remarkable gates in all of Morocco.
In addition, you will visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, a sacred place dedicated to the famous Sultan Moulay Ismail, then you will pass by the entrance of the Meknes Royal Palace, and end up at Heri Essouani.
After that, we will leave Meknes towards Fes. Overnight in a Hotel/Riad.
DAY 5: GUIDED TOUR OF FES
After a tasty breakfast at your Riad, you will start your guided tour of the Medina. Fes is well-known for its fascinating history, it’s one of the world’s largest walled-in cities dating back to the 9th century.
The visit starts by the Royal Palace gate, then walking into the narrow streets of the Jewish headquarters named ”Mellah” built in the 16th century. After that, you will head to Medina to visit notable landmarks such as Al-Qarawiyyin University, the Nejjarine Fountain, the Al-Attarine Madrassa, and the Chouara Tanneries.
Afterward, make your way to a famous Fes tannery, where you have great views from a panoramic viewpoint over the men hard at work treating the different hides.
As the day draws to a close, return to your Riad, with the guidance of a knowledgeable local guide. This full-day tour promises to leave an indelible mark on your heart, making this day of exploration an unforgettable experience. Overnight in the Riad with breakfast.
DAY 6: FES – IFRANE – MIDELT – ZIZ VALLEY – MERZOUGA ERG CHEBBI
In the morning after breakfast, we start the 6th day of our ”Morocco itinerary 9 days” driving towards the Merzouga desert. Along the way, we will make a stop in the Moroccan Switzerland «Ifrane» to relax and take in scenic views.
Continue our journey to the largest cedar forest. Here we will watch the Barbary macaques in their natural habitat and take some pictures, then continue to Midelt through the Middle Atlas Mountains.
Once we finish lunch in Midelt, we drive along the spectacular Ziz Valley, famous for its palm tree oasis.
In the afternoon, we will arrive at Merzouga and get ready for our Camel trekking experience to explore the Erg Chebbi dunes, the Camel caravan will be guided to the top of the dunes by our Camel man.
There, we will catch an amazing Sunset view and do Sand boarding, Afterward, we will camel trek back to our Luxury desert camp where we will have Berber dinner, enjoy Berber music, and spend this night in your private desert tents in the heart of Merzouga.
DAY 7: FULL DAY TO EXPLORE THE MERZOUGA DESERT
Today, wake up early to catch the stunning Sunrise over the Sahara Desert. After breakfast at the camp, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the Merzouga area and its unique landscapes.
We will visit a nomadic family living in their traditional desert tents, learn about their ancient way of life, and share in the warmth of their hospitality. Next, we’ll head to the charming village of Khamlia, known for its unique Gnaoua music and dance.
The locals, originally from South Africa and Mali, will play this special music for you, feel free to dance with them. It is a great opportunity to experience a different style of music.
Next, we will drive to explore an abandoned village that has Galena mines ”M’Fis”, Galena is a mineral that was used to make Mascara, you will have the opportunity to explore the area and glimpse into its history and the mining activities that took place there.
After enjoying a delicious Berber pizza feast at a local restaurant in Khamlia village, we will drive to your beautiful Riad, where you can relax and swim in the lovely pool.
In the late afternoon, you can take a walk to the dunes and watch the Sunset, and if you are interested do some activities such as Quad biking or Buggy driving adventure to watch the Sunset. Later, you will have a delicious dinner and spend the night in the Riad.
DAY 8: MERZOUGA - RISSANI - TINEJDAD - TODRA GORGES - DADES VALLEY
After enjoying a delicious breakfast at your Riad, we will depart to Dades Gorge. our first stop will be in Rissani City to explore the traditional market (on market days – Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday). Then we will continue to Erfoud, famous for its fossilized quartz, where you will tour the workshop production of marble fossils ( Optional).
Afterward, we continued our way to Todra Gorge. It’s one of the premier climbing destinations in Morocco with high walls offering hundreds of routes of sport that attract visitors and climbers.
After that, we head towards the Dades Gorge, enjoy a scenic drive, and prepare to be amazed by the incredible rock formations that resemble Monkey Fingers. Dinner and overnight at a lovely Riad.
DAY 9: DADES GORGES - OUARZAZATE - HIGHT ATLAS MOUNTAINS - MARRAKECH
On the last day of our 9-day Morocco Itinerary, we’ll drive to Ouarzazate via The Rose Valley «Kalaat M’gouna» and continue through the road of thousands of kasbahs passing by Skoura palm grove until we arrive at Ouarzazate named ” Africa Hollywood “.
After a visit to Taourirt Kasbah and the Atlas Studio (Optional), we’ll drive straight to Ait Ben Haddou where we will visit its famous and oldest kasbah, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has appeared in many international movies, like The kingdom of heaven, Babel, Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia…
Lunch break in the kasbah, then we continue our journey crossing the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi-n Tichka and many Berber villages, we will stop from time to time to walk a little bit, take pictures, and enjoy the views of the landscape.
In the late afternoon, we will arrive at Marrakech, then drop you off at your accommodation or airport, and our ”Morocco 9 Days Itinerary” ends.
