Program Itinerary of The 7 Days Desert Tour From Casablanca to Marrakech:
DAY 1: CASABLANCA – RABAT - CHEFCHAOUEN
Our ‘Morocco Itinerary one week’ begins from your Riad/Hotel. Your professional driver/guide will meet you at your designated location, and you’ll board a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle for the day’s adventure.
Our first stop is the capital of Morocco ‘Rabat’. As we arrive, we’ll visit the historical sites of Rabat, including Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, Kasbah of the Udayas, Chellah…
After that, we’ll continue our day toward Chefchaouen ”The Blue City”. Upon arriving, you’ll instantly understand why it’s called the “Blue Pearl.” This enchanting city is renowned for its blue-washed buildings, narrow alleys, and mountainous backdrop.
Take some time to explore the city’s vibrant markets, where you can find unique handicrafts and local treasures. Overnight in Hotel/Riad.
DAY 2: CHEFCHAOUEN - VOLUBILIS - MEKNES - FES
Today, after a Moroccan breakfast at your accommodation, you will have a free morning to discover the narrow streets and alleys of the old Medina of Chefchaouen, take your time to enjoy the magic of this beautiful city.
Head to Plaza Uta el-Hammam, the main square of Chefchaouen, and treat yourself to the flavors of delicious Moroccan cuisine.
After lunch, we will drive to Fes via Volubilis, the well-preserved Roman empire dating to 225 BC. Therefore you will have a guided tour (optional) of the site and learn about the Roman Empire.
After that, we continue to Meknes, the Ismaili capital of Morocco, where we will see the famous gate (Bab El-Mansour) built by the Sultan My Ismail, then to the granary and Sahrij Souani used for irrigation and plantation, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum.
Finally, we will arrive at your charming Riad/Hotel in Fes for the night.
DAY 3: GUIDED TOUR OF FES
After a Morrocan breakfast, as you meet your knowledgeable guide, you will be greeted with warm hospitality and a genuine passion for sharing the wonders of Fes.
Begin your tour by visiting the famous gate to the Royal Palace. Then, you will walk through the Jewish quarter ”the Mellah”.
After that, visit most of the sites of cultural and historical interest, including the famous Al Karaouine Mosque and University (the oldest in the world), and the Madrassa Bouanania. Then head to the Tanneries and the Najjarine fountain.
After lunch in a local restaurant, you will drive outside the Medina to enjoy a panoramic view of the Medina and the city of Fes. In the afternoon you will back to your Riad.
DAY 4: FES – IFRANE – MIDDLE ATLAS MOUNTAINAS – ZIZ VALLEY – MERZOUGA SAHARA
Today, we start the 4th day of our ”Morocco itinerary one week” driving through the middle Atlas and the cedar woods of Azrou.
We will stop by the Moroccan Switzerland «Ifrane» to relax and discover this small amazing city. The second Stop will be at the cedar forest where we can watch the Barbary macaques, take some pictures, and feel free to feed them. then continue to Midelt, via the stunning Middle Atlas Mountains.
Once we finish lunch in Midelt, we drive along the spectacular Ziz Valley with stops at its amazing panoramic views.
In the afternoon, we will reach Merzouga and get ready for our Camel trekking experience to explore the Erg Chebbi dunes, the Camel caravan will be guided to the top of the dunes. There, we will catch an amazing Sunset view, and do Sandboarding.
Afterward, we will camel trek to our Luxury desert camp, at the late afternoon, you will have a delicious dinner, enjoy Berber music (drums), and then spend the night in your private tent under a starry sky.
DAY 5: EXPLORE MERZOUGA REGION - NOMADS - KHAMLIA - PALM GROVE
Today, waking up early is highly recommended to enjoy the stunning Sunrise over the Sahara Desert. After breakfast at the camp, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the Merzouga area, you’ll have the chance to visit a nomadic family living in their traditional desert tents, learn about their ancient way of life, listen to fascinating stories, and share the mint tea with them.
Next, you’ll head to the village of Khamlia, known for its vibrant Gnaoua music. Immerse yourself in the charming melodies the local musicians perform, originating from sub-Saharan countries like Sudan, Mali and Niger.
Afterward, you can mingle with the friendly villagers, gaining further insights into their customs and traditions.
For lunch, savor a delicious Berber pizza feast at a local restaurant in Khamlia village, and take a stroll in the palm trees grove.
In the afternoon, return to Merzouga and enjoy some free time to relax and soak in the beauty of the desert. Overnight and dinner in the Riad.
DAY 6: MERZOUGA - RISSANI - TINEJDAD - TODRA GORGES - DADES VALLEY
On the 6th day of our Casablanca desert tour, we will leave Merzouga to discover the ancient capital of Tafilalet ”Rissani”. After a stroll in the largest traditional market, we continue to Erfoud where we visit one of the workshops on fossilized marble (Optional).
Then we drive toward Tinghir and Todra Gorges through Tinajdad where we can enjoy a delicious lunch in a local restaurant. Upon we reach Todra Gorge. Take your time to wander in the gorges and appreciate the beauty of the landscapes.
Continue our expedition towards the Dades Valley through Boumalen Dades, inevitable stops at the astonishing rock formations resembling Monkey Fingers and for the view of the Dades River. Finally, dinner and overnight in a lovely Riad.
DAY 7: DADES GORGE - OUARZAZATE - ATLAS MOUNTAINS - MARRAKECH
On the last day of our tour, we will leave Dades toward Ouarzazate and Marrakech via The Rose Valley «Kalaat M’gouna» and continue through the road of thousands of kasbahs passing by Skoura palm grove until we arrive at Ouarzazate, named ” Africa Hollywood “.
After a visit to the Kasbah Tourirt and the Atlas Studio (Optional), we’ll drive straight to Ait Ben Haddou, where we will visit its famous and oldest Kasbah, it was a UNESCO in 1986, Many films and TV series were shot here, such as The Kingdom of heaven, Babel, Gladiator, Game of Thrones, Alexander…
Lunch break in a restaurant near the kasbah, then drive through the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi-n Tichka and many Berber villages nearby. We will arrive at Marrakech in the evening and drop you off at your accommodation, concluding your unforgettable ”Morocco itinerary one week”.
